App: Color Blind Test — Ishihara
Package: com.mobileappmentor.color_blind_test_ishihara
Developer: Prasish Sharma
Last updated: 22 September 2026

The short version. We run no servers, there are no accounts, and we receive nothing about you. Your colour vision test result is never saved to your device and never leaves it — it exists only while the app is open, and it is gone the moment you close it.

The app is free and paid for by advertising. Advertising is the one thing that sends data off your device: Google AdMob and the ad networks bidding through it collect an advertising identifier and related technical information in order to show, measure and protect the ads. That is the whole of it, and the rest of this page describes it in full.

1. What we collect ourselves

Nothing.

We operate no servers, run no analytics, and have no way to receive data about you. There is no sign-in, no account, no profile and no cloud backup.

Your test results are not stored at all

This is stronger than "kept private on your device". The app has no history feature, and a completed test is never written to storage of any kind. Your answers, your score, your classification and the plate-by-plate breakdown live in memory for as long as the result is on screen, and are discarded when you leave it. There is no file to find, no database to read, and nothing to delete.

What is stored on your device

Only your preferences, in the app's own private storage:

SettingWhat it is
ThemeLight, dark or system
LanguageYour chosen language, or system default
Test lengthFull, screening or quick
TimerWhether the timed mode is on
Calibration stateWhether you completed the optional brightness check, and whether you acknowledged the colour-filter warning
First-run flagWhether the app has been opened before

None of it identifies you, none of it is transmitted anywhere, and uninstalling the app removes all of it. We cannot read it. We do not sell data, because we do not have any.

The PDF report

If you choose to save your result as a PDF, the file is built entirely on your device. It is written to the folder you pick, under the filename you choose, using Android's system file picker. It is never uploaded anywhere. If you then share it, it goes wherever you send it and nowhere else.

The ambient light sensor

If your device has a light sensor, the app takes a single reading when a test starts, to note whether the room was bright enough for a reliable result. The value is used to annotate that result and is never stored or transmitted. Devices without the sensor skip it silently; no permission is required for this, and none is requested.

2. What our advertising partners collect

The app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob runs an auction for each ad slot, and the following partners may take part in that auction and receive data as part of it:

The app's Google Play Data safety section is the authoritative statement of what this app collects.

Through the Google Mobile Ads SDK and these partners, the following is collected from your device and shared with them:

WhatWhy it is collected
Device or other identifiers — your Android advertising ID (AAID), app set ID, and similar SDK-level identifiers Selecting and showing ads, capping how often you see the same ad, measuring ads, and detecting ad fraud
Approximate location — estimated from your IP address, never from your device's location sensors Showing ads that are legal and relevant in your country or region, and detecting ad fraud
App interactions — app opens, ad impressions, ad clicks, session length Showing and measuring ads
Diagnostics — crash logs, performance data, device model, OS version, screen size, language, network type Rendering ads correctly, keeping the SDKs working, and detecting ad fraud

All of it is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection.

Your test result is not part of this. No advertising partner receives your answers, your score, your classification, or any indication of whether the app found a colour vision deficiency. Ads are not targeted on the basis of your result, and the result is never sent anywhere — it is not stored for long enough to be.

The app requests only family-safe ad content (AdMob's most restrictive content rating), and does not declare child-directed treatment, because it is a general-audience tool.

For what Google does with this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's advertising partners. Each partner's own policy: Unity / ironSource, InMobi, Liftoff Monetize, Meta.

3. Your choices and your rights

Consent

Where the law requires it — the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and several US states — the app shows Google's certified consent form (the Google User Messaging Platform, an IAB TCF v2 Consent Management Platform) the first time you run it. You decide there whether your data may be used for personalised advertising, and nothing is requested from any ad network until you have.

Your decision is forwarded to every advertising partner listed above, not just to Google. If you refuse, the app keeps working and you will see non-personalised ads instead.

You can change that decision at any time, from inside the app, at Settings → Privacy options. Where a form is required by law, that row is always present, and changing your answer takes effect immediately.

Your advertising ID

Android lets you reset your advertising ID, or delete it altogether, from Settings → Privacy → Ads (Settings → Google → Ads on some devices). Deleting it stops this app and its advertising partners receiving it at all.

US state privacy rights

Where you have a right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, the consent form above records it and we forward that signal to every advertising partner that accepts one. We do not sell or share data ourselves, because we never receive any.

EEA / UK rights

Because we receive no personal data, we are not in a position to access, correct, port or erase anything about you — there is nothing held. For the data processed by Google and the advertising partners above, those companies are the controllers and their own policies (linked in section 2) describe how to exercise your rights with them. Withdrawing consent through Settings → Privacy options stops personalised processing for the future.

4. Permissions this app asks for

The complete list, and nothing else is requested:

PermissionWhat it is for
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Loading ads and the consent form. Nothing else in the app uses the network at all — the test itself works offline.
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID Reading the advertising ID, for the ads described above. Android 13+ requires it to be declared.
ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION Android Privacy Sandbox APIs, declared by the Google and Unity advertising SDKs.
WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE Declared by the advertising SDKs, which schedule background work through WorkManager. Nothing in the app itself uses them.

There is no storage permission. Saving your PDF report uses Android's Storage Access Framework, which grants access to the single file you chose and nothing else.

What this app deliberately does not declare: location of any kind, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth scanning, contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, SMS, call logs, phone state, external storage, notifications, or "query all packages". Where a third-party advertising SDK tries to merge one of those into the build, it is stripped and the SDK dropped rather than shipped.

5. Health information

This app is a preliminary self-screening tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Display hardware, ambient lighting and colour calibration vary between devices and can alter results. For medical evaluation, employment, licensing or aviation testing, consult a qualified optometrist or ophthalmologist.

Your result is health-adjacent information, and it is treated accordingly: it is never stored, never transmitted, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone. The only copy that can outlive the session is a PDF you chose to save, in a location you chose, under a name you chose.

6. Children

This is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not target advertising on the basis of any information about a child.

If you believe a child has provided information through this app, contact us at the address below and we will act on it — though, as described above, we hold no personal information about anyone.

7. Data retention and deletion

Data held by Google and the advertising partners is retained under their own policies, linked in section 2.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A materially different version will also be announced in the app's Google Play listing.
